International Migration of Nurses from Kerala: Impact on Kerala Economy

Dr. Reni Sebastian had attained Doctorate in Economic Studies from the Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT), Kerala in the year 2019 had undertaken extensive research on “Migration of Nurses from Kerala to the United Kingdom – A Socio-Economic Study” while pursing her studies. She had won scholarships and grants for her exemplary academic achievements. Her notable publications “Migration from India to United Kingdom - An Analytical Study” and “International Migration To and From United Kingdom, and the case of British Indian population:

A closer look” were published in the International Journal of Business & Administration Research Review dated April 2015, and July 2015, respectively. Her paper “Circular Migration and Multi-locational Livelihood Strategies in Rural India” which was presented at the International Conference on Greater Connectivity and Regional Integration in South Asia organized by UNESCO was much acclaimed by the delegates and participants. She has also participated and presented papers in several National Workshops and Seminars like International Labour Migration, Prevalence of Modern Slavery among Marginalized Women and Children in India, etc.
