Vitamin D deficiency and its supplementation have been increasingly catching the researchers in past few years. There are no definitive guidelines for the effective dose of vitamin D supplementation in newborns, especially in Indian population. The study published in this book will enlighten the comparison of two doses (400IU vs 800 IU) of vitamin D supplementation in term small for gestation age babies.

About The Authors

Dr. Jyothi Naik did her MBBS in 2003 from JSSMC, Mysore and Diploma Anaesthesia from MMC Mysore in 2008. She has worked for few years as Anaesthesiologist in BMC, JIPMER, HCG and other hospitals. She took MD Pediatrics in JNMC, AMU Aligarh through All India quot and finished her MD Pediatrics in 2018. She presented papers and posters at various conferences and published papers in reputed journals.

Prof. Dr. Syed Manazir Ali has passed MBBS in 1982, DCH in 1985, MD (Paed.) in 1987 from Aligarh Muslim University, DNB in 1994 from National Board, New Delhi, DCH in 1997 from Royal College of Phys & Surgeon, Glasgow and Fellow in HIV Medicine in 2007 from Regional Training Centre Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi and joined Department of Pediatrics, JNMC AMU in 1987 as a Senior Resident and continuing as Professor since more than 12 years. His areas of interest are Neonatology, intensive care and HIV Medicine.

He has published more than 40 papers in reputed National and International Journals. He has delivered lectures on important pediatrics topics at state and national pediatrics conference/ seminars.

Dr Uzma Firdaus did MBBS in 2000 and MD in Paediatrics in 2005 from J.N.Medical College, A.M.U, Aligarh. Later i joined as Senior Resident for around 2yr and am presently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Paediatrics for the last 7 years..Her thrust area is Neonatal intensive care. She has presented several papers and posters at various National conferences and reputed journals have published her articles.

Prof. Dr. Jamal Ahmad did his MBBS in 1997 and MD Medicine in 1982 from JNMC, AMU, Aligarh. Later he did his DM Endocrinology in 1986 from, PGIMER, Chandigarh, FCCP (USA) in 1987, Ph D Medicine in 1996 and then FRCP in 2008 from UK. He hold various teaching posts from Senior resident to Professor in JNMC, AMU in Medicine and Endocrinology. He was Director of Rajiv Gandhi center for Diabetes and Endocrinolgy and also Dean of JNMC, AMU Aligarh.

He has more than 150 publications in journals and any presentations at various conferences and courses.
