About The Book
Algorithmic composition refers to composing music by means of an algorithm. It has a systematized body of knowledge and it also needs a lot of practice so clearly it is a science as well as an art of the generation of music. Several areas pertaining to computer science, applied mathematics and statistics finds application in it. They include fractals, cellular automata, artificial neural network, stochastic process etc. The present book reveals the applications of stochastic process especially Markov chain in algorithmic composition with the domain being Hindustani music.
