About The Authors

Dr. Ashok Vajravelu, Senior Lecturer at Universiti Tun Hussein Malaysia (UTHM), holds a Bachelor of Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kongu Engineering College, Tamilnadu, India (2002). He also has a Master's degree in Process Control and Instrumentation Engineering from Annamalai University, Tamilnadu, India (2005), and a Ph.D. in Medical Electronics from Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. His academic journey includes serving as a Lecturer at Velalar College of Engineering and Technology, Tamilnadu, India (2005-2009), Assistant Professor (2010-2012), Professor, and Head of the Department at Nandha College of Technology, Tamilnadu, India (2012-2015).

Then he also worked as an Associate Professor at Kongu Engineering College, Tamilnadu, India (2015). His expertise lies in several areas, notably Biomedical Engineering, Discrete Electronics Design, and Development, Embedded Systems, and Signal Preprocessing. He has also gained valuable industry experience, having worked as a Design Engineer at United Industries, India, and as a junior development Engineer at Megawin Switchgear, India. Throughout his career, he has inspired and mentored numerous students and medical practitioners. His passion for the applications of cyber-physical systems in neural engineering has been instrumental in fostering their interest and providing valuable insights. His teachings and guidance have helped students and professionals better understand the field. He has also contributed to consultancy projects like Android Application Development for IoT-based RO Plant Controlling and Database Management. These projects demonstrate his practical approach to utilizing technology in solving real-world problems. With his extensive academic background, industry experience, and research interests, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of neural engineering. His dedication to teaching, research, and practical applications has made him a respected figure among students and medical practitioners alike, inspiring them to explore the potential of cyber-physical systems in improving healthcare and biomedical technologies.


Dr. Muhammad Mahadi Bin Abdul Jamil, started his further education with a higher national diploma in medical electronic engineering at the British Malaysian Institute. He then moved on to the University of Bradford where he gained a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Medical Engineering in year 2003. Later completed his higher education in 2007. This is when Dr. Mahadi gained his Ph.D. degree in Medical Engineering from the same university. Dr. Mahadi’s career began in 2008. He shared his extensive knowledge by lecturing at UTHM, Batu Pahat, Johor. He has gained a vast range of specializations since then. From then on he has also joined and participated in a variety of professional societies, currently being the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the International Association of Engineers. One of his many accomplishments consists of the various publications he has produced during the 14 years of his career. Not to forget the many research grants and contracts he has acquired over the years. Alongside this, he has kept himself busy by supervising numerous students on their Bachelor Degree, Master and Ph.D. projects. His research interest and focus are in the field of biomedical engineering systems and applications technology.

Mr. Mohd Helmy Bin Abd Wahab, is a Senior lecturer and a former Head of the Multimedia Engineering Lab and Intelligent System Lab at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in 2014 and 2009. He is currently a Principle Research Fellow at the Advanced Telecommunication Research Center, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, UTHM (2021 – 2025) and Visiting Research Fellow for the Center of Excellence on Advanced in Computing, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMaP) (2021 – 2022). In addition, he was a visiting research fellow at the Center of Excellence on Geopolymer and Green Technology under cluster Green ICT, Unimap from 2018 – 2020. He received a Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia and a Master of Science (Intelligent System) from the same university in 2002 and 2004 respectively. He has completed several research grants; won several medals in research and innovation showcases and awarded several publication and teaching awards. At the latest, he received 2nd runner-up for Grand Prize Award category Innovation Video Challenge for the project "Online Learning System with Authentication and identification mechanism using Neuro-fuzzy Algorithm" and the same project also received 1st Grand Prize Award for FB Post and contest as well as GOLD medals respectively at Asia International Innovation Exhibition 2020 (AIINEX2020) organized by Connection Asia and UNIKL. He also received an international award GOLD medal for the project "Portable Dwi-Switch Home Control Appliance for Elderly and Disabled People" at the 2020 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2020) in conjunction with Thailand Inventors’ Day 2020 on 2 - 6 February 2020. He has authored and co-authored 2 academic books in database and WAP application, published several both local and international book chapters as well and published more than 100 technical papers in conferences and peer-reviewed journals. He also served as Editor-in-chief in Advances in Computing and Intelligent System Journal and guest editor for a Special Issue in Wireless and Mobile Networks in the International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications and as Deputy Editor-in-chief for Int. Journal of Software Engineering and Computing and scholarly contributed as the committee for conferences, editorial team, and manuscript reviewers. His research interests are in data mining, artificial intelligence and computer vision, mobile and wireless computing, and web-based applications. He is currently a senior member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IAEng, and Senior member of IACSIT.

Dr. Asmarashid Bin Ponniran, is a distinguished electrical engineer who earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in 2002, followed by a master's degree in engineering (Electrical Power) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2005. His pursuit of advanced knowledge led him to achieve a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), Japan in 2016. He is currently working as an associate professor and researcher at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. His research interests in power electronics encompass a wide range of areas, such as power converter circuit structure optimization, switching strategies for modular multilevel power converters, achieving high power density in power converters, developing high voltage gain power converters, and exploring high-frequency power converters. These research interests are focused on their practical applications in renewable energy (RE), electric vehicle (EV) technology, smart grid power systems (SGPS), and data center power systems (DCPS).
